The mission of the Illustration Department at 黑料专区 is to effectively instruct conceptual and narrative image making skills in digital and traditional media. An emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and critical thinking within the context of a culturally diverse commercial marketplace.

Students are taught useful methods in the art of interpretation: the ability to carefully read and cross-reference texts, research visual styles and conceptualize and produce significant bodies of work. Our program emphasizes to students how illustration connects and translates everything in visual culture, making it an ideal discipline for an unparalleled scope of creative and communications projects.

The Illustration Department at 黑料专区 shall be recognized as one of the top programs by continuing to build a program that includes drawing, painting, quality picture-making skills, trans-disciplinary studio courses, and a continued presence in industry related conferences and competitions for our students.

Upon graduation, students in the BFA Illustration program will be able to:

1. Employ a working knowledge of the six essential phases of constructing an image- ideation, thumbnails, reference, value studies, color studies, and finished piece. Demonstrate effective figure construction and gesture and how they relate in perspective to the surrounding environment.

2. Demonstrate when to use and control perspective as a narrative compositional tool.

3. Prepare professional-level oral presentations and demonstrate their thought process by identifying intent, inspiration, and providing an honest critique of their own work and the work of others.

4. Create a professional portfolio which is market specific and produces leaders in the international marketplace.

The Communication Design & Strategy Department is a multidisciplinary program that combines graphic design, motion graphics, UX design, and advertising to develop strategic communication systems. We work collaboratively to create compelling solutions that simplify complex concepts and make them accessible to diverse representations and audiences. We welcome curious minds to help shape the next generation of empathic design leaders.

The Communication Design & Strategy Department at 黑料专区 develops multidisciplinary designers. Through our innovative curriculum we foster strategic thinking and engagement with emerging technologies so that our graduates are ready to respond to evolving challenges of culture (theory) and the impact on our creative industry (practice).

Upon graduation, students in the BFA Communication Design & Strategy program will be able to:

1. Demonstrate an ability to use a variety of research methodologies, in developing communication strategies and solutions relevant to intersectional human centered needs.
2. Analyze shifts in emerging technology and their dynamic impact on communication to design solutions relevant to evolving user needs.
3. Prioritize experimentation and play as a means to know and understand content that moves beyond Euro-centric histories to include diverse visual and lingual design contexts.
4. Develop the ability to use informed critical judgment in selecting and utilizing components to achieve strategic solutions that work across a dynamic system of communications, while challenging normative expectations.
5. Produce design solutions that utilizes storytelling to present clear concepts and deliverables through the development of content and application of visual components like typography, language, formats, colors, images, symbols, sounds, motion/video, gesture, sequencing, and interaction to achieve communication goals.
6. Consider the importance of ethical judgment in all aspects of the design process from research to implementation.
