My educational background is in art history and American studies, and my research usually focuses in on the history of U.S. visual culture from 1848-1945. I鈥檝e noticed through the years that I have a soft spot in my heart for 鈥渙utliers鈥�(HINT: think outlaws, pirates, marginalized women) and how they are portrayed in popular culture.
